Recent remedial maintenance work

Photos of current work in the channel at Critical Areas to protects banks needed to protect critical assets, such as town water supplies, Greytown, dwellings near SH2 and SH2 itself and the Urupa. These protections on just a few percent of the river's total length are necessary to make the proposed flood defences work properly. So protecting these and maintaining the river channel away from banks in these sensitive areas is now explicit in the latest drafting of the Waihone River Plan.
